Assessments linked to the Quantile Framework which provide a student with a Quantile measure can be used to target instruction and track growth over time.
A challenge for educators in tailoring a curriculum to fit their students’ needs often lies with utilizing the data provided from assessment. By measuring student achievement and the difficulty of mathematics skills on the same scale, the Quantile Framework for Mathematics provides teachers and their students with continuity between multiple assessments and the mathematics curriculum.
By matching the student measure with the skill measure (called a Quantile Skill and Concept or QSC) a teacher can better understand a student’s progress. Also, because different assessments use the same scale, educators can readily compare scores to see changes in overall student mathematics achievement.
